All outings on this page are assigned dates as they are selected by members for
the main Club Calendar. This is usually done one to two months ahead of time to
give everyone a chance to give input. Thus, if you see an Outing here that you
would like to do, join us on a club ride and let us know your desires.

Ride Start: McMenamins Edgefield, Troutdale, OR.

Meet: 8:30am for 8:45am start.
Levels: Beginning, Social and Intermediate.
Ride Distance: ~60 miles.
Ride Terrain: Rolling with one 1000' Climb.

Outing Details:
Columbia Gorge Weekend will be our first attempt at cycling the Historic Columbia River Highway.
To start out we will have a goal of going from Troutdale to Cascade Locks, ~60 miles round trip.
We will be spending the weekend in McMenamins Historic Edgefield Hotel with everything
from fine dining to an old fashion movie house.

Because of the distance to the event, we recommend members plan to spend
the weekend (Friday and Saturday nights) and carpool down.
On Friday we will plan to meet in the main lobby between 7-9pm for socializing
and fun.
Saturday morning everyone will meet for breakfast at 7am in the Black Rabbit Restaurant.
Rides start after breakfast in front of the main Edgefield entrance at 8:30am.
Everyone will do the same route from Troutsdale to Cascade Locks but there will be several
designated turnaround points for those not wanting as long a ride such as Crown Point or
Bridal Veil Falls. Those going the longest distance will be able to see the Cascade Locks
and cross the Columbia River on Bridge of the Gods. For more information about the route,

Everyone will meet at the Edgefield Saturday evening for dinner and socializing at
the establishment of our choice.
Sunday morning breakfast will be at 8am at the Black Rabbit Restaurant.
Afterwards there will be choices between a short morning bike ride
or a tourist excursion into Portland on the MAX.

Ride Start: National Inn at Longmire.

Meet: 9am for 9:15am start.
Levels: Beginning, Social and Intermediate.
Ride Distance: 27/23/60/82 miles.
Ride Terrain: Rolling/Hilly/Mountainous.

Outing Details:
Mount Rainier Outing Weekend will be at the famous National Inn at Longmire
in the Rainier National Forest.
You can go for two nights, one night or just drive up for the day. Anything you want
to do.
While you can stay at a motel in Ashford, most everyone will be staying at the
National Inn at Longmire so make reservations early so you are sure to get a room
close to the action.
For those coming up Friday night we will meet in the main lobby of the National Inn
between 7-9pm for socializing and fun.
Saturday morning everyone will meet for breakfast at 8am in the National Inn. Rides
start in the National Inn parking lot at 9am.
You will have a selection between four routes -
Longmire/Ashford - 27 miles - Rolling/Hilly.
Longmire/Paradise - 23 miles - Hilly/Mountainous.
Longmire/Paradise/Packwood - 60 miles - Hilly/Mountainous.
Longmire/Paradise/Packwood/Ashford - 82 miles - Hilly/Mountainous.
Everyone will meet back at the National Inn on Saturday night for dinner and socializing.
Sunday morning we will meet for breakfast at 8am in the National Inn. After breakfast
there will be choices between a short morning bike ride in the area or a hike before
returning home.

Month Day, Friday - Sunday, Old Bellingham (Fairhaven) Weekend
Ride Start: Fairhaven, South Bellingham, WA.

Day One - North to the Border
Meet: 9am for 9:15am start.
Levels: Beginning, Social and Intermediate.
Ride Distances: 40, 53 or 73 miles.
Ride Terrain: Flat/Rolling with some climbs.
Day Two South to Chuckanut/Padilla Bay
Meet: 9am for 9:15am start.
Levels: Beginning, Social and Intermediate.
Ride Distances/Terrain: 36 or 62 miles.
Ride Terrain: Rolling/Hilly.

Outing Details:
Our Old Bellingham Weekend is divided into two distinct sections of cycling.
On Saturday, all rides will go north towards the border. Riders will have
a choice between a challenging 73 mile loop to the Peace Arch Border Crossing
in Blaine, a 53 mile loop to Birch Bay State Park and a 40 mile easy loop to
scenic Lummi Island.
On Sunday, all rides will go to the south. Riders will have two choices,
either a 36 mile Chuckanut Drive loop or a more challenging 62 mile
route including both Chuckanut Drive and Padilla Bay. Or, you could sleep
in and fun day hanging out in Historic Fairhaven.
We have not selected a main inn yet but there are plenty of excellent choices
on Bellingham's Motel Strip (Samish Way) or a few select ones like the Fairhaven
Village Inn just steps from the ride start.
On Friday we will plan to meet in the main lobby of the central inn
(TBA) between 7-9pm for socializing and fun.
Announcements will be made at this time for locations for morning group breakfasts,
Saturday night's group dinner and other Outing Weekend particulars.
All rides will start from the parking area across the street from the Colophon
Cafe and Village Bookstore.

Outing Details:
The Padilla Bay Outing is designed around
a weekend of camping at beautiful Bay State Park
where we combine the excitement of bike riding with outdoor life around the campfire.
We will start the weekend on Friday setting up campsites,
cooking over an open fire, hiking on the beach and telling stories over the campfire.
On Saturday we will start with breakfast at the campsites
and when all are ready we will head out on several area bike loops to match the levels and
preferences of all attending. Lunch will be up to each individual and then Saturday night we
will have another group dinner around the campfire.
On Sunday we will start with breakfast at the campsites
and then select a single social/moderate loop that all can enjoy together. Once back at the
campsite, we will complete final chores to break camp and have final goodbyes to all that
have attended.

Ride Start: UBC Residence Halls.

Ride Distances: 30 or 46/66 miles.
Ride Terrain: Flat/Rolling or Rolling/Mountainous.

Meet: 8am for 8:15am start.
Levels: Beginning, Social and Intermediate.
Ride Distances: 22 miles.
Ride Terrain: Flat/Rolling.
Outing Details:
Command Central for the Vancouver Canada Outing will be on the beautiful
University of British Columbia Campus.
You can go for just one day instead of two but it is recommended that you go for the
whole weekend so you can both enjoy the rides and the flavor of our most metropolitian
Northwest city.
Since all activities will initiate from UBC Accomodations, you should stay in the there

Friday night we will meet in the main lobby on the first floor of our residence between
8pm-10pm for introductions, tour packets distribution and socializing. For those that
get to UBC early this also a good place to run into other tour participants for dinner.
Saturday morning everyone will meet in front of the residence at 8am for a brisk early
morning ride along the water to breakfast on the walk in downtown Vancouver. After
breakfast we will break everyone into groups for either a relaxing 21 mile tourist
ride around Stanley and False Creek, 20 mile social ride on the North Shore or a 40
mile intermediate challenging ride on the North Shore taking in Cypress Bowl.
Saturday night everyone will regroup in the residence lobby at 5pm for selection
of evening dining establishment and social activities.
Sunday morning we will again meet in front of the residence at 8am, this time for a fun
6 mile ride along the water to breakfast in trendy Kitsalano. After
breakfast, participants can return directly to the dorms for sightseeing and other
tourist activities or take in a fun 16 mile ride through South Vancouver neighborhoods.
All activites will end early afternoon so all can get an early start back to Seattle.

Ride Start: Culbertson Park, Long Beach, WA.

Outing Details:
Washington Coast Weekend will be our first attempt at cycling the Long Beach Peninsula.
The first day we will cycle the southern part of the Peninsula with an ~20 mile flat/rolling
beach/park option for beginning riders and a 61 mile more challenging option for other
riders. The second day both groups will cycle the northern part of the peninsula on a
flat 43 mile route.
We have not selected a main inn yet but there are plenty of excellent choices
along the beach to choose from which will give members extra options if they
would like to try something special.
